About Suddenlink email

As of May 4, 2021, Suddenlink no longer offers the ability for new and existing Internet customers to create new Suddenlink email accounts.

Rich text is the default format for an email message. You can change the format of a message to plain text when you reply to it or forward it:

  1. In your Suddenlink email, select Settings, then Mail
  2. Uncheck the box for “Compose messages in rich text format”
  3. Select Save

You can conveniently add personal folders to help you organize your email messages.

Create a folder

  1. In your Suddenlink email, in the left navigation pane, hover over Inbox or Folder where you want to create the new folder and select , or right-click on the inbox or folder then select Add New Folder
  2. Type a name for the folder and select Save

Rename a folder

  1. In your Suddenlink email, select next to the folder you want to rename, or right-click on the folder then select Rename Folder

Delete a folder

  1. In your Suddenlink email, highlight the folder you want to delete and select (Delete folder)
  2. Select Yes to continue with the deletion

An email signature is text, like your contact information or a favorite quote, that is automatically added to the bottom of an email message you send.

  1. In your Suddenlink email, select Settings, then Mail
  2. Select Signatures
  3. Select Add New Signature
  4. Select Rich or Plain text
  5. Enter your signature information
  6. Choose the font, size, and position where you would like your signature to be displayed and select Save

Use a contact list or distribution group to send an email to multiple people - without having to add each email address individually.

Create a contact or distribution list

  1. In your Suddenlink email, select Contacts
  2. Select New
  3. Select New Contact to add an individual or New Group to create a group
  4. Enter personal and contact information
  5. Select Save

Import contacts

  1. In your Suddenlink email, select Contacts
  2. Select More
  3. Select Import contacts
  4. Select a file - file format must be either CSV or vCard
  5. Select Upload

Export contacts

  1. In your Suddenlink email, select Contacts
  2. Select More
  3. Select Export contacts
  4. Select Yes
  5. Enter file name and select file format, CSV or vCard
  6. Select Submit

A vacation message can be set to automatically reply to incoming emails.

Set up your vacation reply

  1. In your Suddenlink email, select Settings, then Mail
  2. Select Vacation message
  3. Select a reply option:
    • Do not activate vacation message
    • Reply every time
    • Reply every time and append original message
    • Reply once per sender
  4. Enter a Start date and End date
  5. In Create a message field, enter the message you wish people to see when they send an email message to your address
  6. Select Save

Your vacation message is now active.

Turn off your vacation reply

  1. In your Suddenlink email, select Settings, then Mail
  2. Select Vacation message
  3. Select Do not activate vacation message
  4. Select Save

Your vacation message is now turned off

You can choose to forward your new messages to another email address.

  1. In your Suddenlink email, select Settings, then Mail
  2. Select Mail forwarding
  3. Check Enable forwarding
  4. Check Keep a copy in your inbox, if you would like to keep a copy of the email
  5. Enter up to 10 email addresses – make sure to include a comma between each address
  6. Select Save

You can manage and organize your incoming email using filters.

Create a filter

  1. In your Suddenlink email, select Settings, then Mail
  2. Select Mail filter, then Add
  3. Enter a name for the filter and select Activate
  4. Select your filter criteria and filter action
  5. Select Save

Edit or delete a filter

  1. In your Suddenlink email, select Settings, then Mail
  2. Select Mail filter
  3. Select Edit (icon) next to filter you wish to edit or select Delete (icon) next to filter you wish to delete

You can stay organized by creating tasks and to-do lists.

  1. In your Suddenlink email, select the Tasks tab
  2. Select New within the top toolbar
  3. Enter a task or list details, start date/time and due date/time including reminders
  4. Select Save

You can use the calendar to keep track of all your events.

Create an appointment

  1. In your Suddenlink email, select the Calendar tab
  2. Select New event within the top toolbar
  3. Enter a name for the task, location, start time, and date
  4. Select Save to create the appointment

To add another participant start entering the participants name or email address in the Attendee(s) field. As soon as you start typing, auto completion offers you matching results to choose from.

Create a repeating appointment
When creating or editing an appointment, simply select the Repeat option. You can choose to repeat the appointment daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, and when you would like it to end.

You can link other email accounts, such as Yahoo and Gmail, to the Suddenlink portal to manage all your emails in one place.

  1. In your Suddenlink email, select Settings, then Mail
  2. Select Import email account
  3. Select Add and follow the on-screen prompts to link your email address
    • Default email protocol is IMAP (recommended) - To change, select Advanced settings
  4. Select Save and you will see your linked email inbox in the left navigation pane, under Add mail account

If you were not able to link your email account using the method above, you can add one manually using our IMAP server settings.

Mark emails as spam

  1. In your Suddenlink email, check the email(s) you want to mark as spam
  2. From the top menu, select More
  3. Select Mark as junk or Block sender and mark as junk, when you also want to block the sender
  4. Select Yes and the email(s) will be moved to your Junk folder

Unmark an email as spam

You can remove an email from Junk if you incorrectly marked it as spam:

  1. In your Suddenlink email, under My Account, select Junk
  2. Check the email(s) you want to unmark as spam
  3. From the top menu, select More
  4. Select Mark as not junk
  5. Select Yes and the email(s) will be moved to your inbox
